Musical Talents

One of the many talents I have is singing and guitar playing. I love to croon and play a few songs on my acoustic guitar. My main song list is old American ballads and soft rock tunes. My karaoke list is a lot different. Here I do rock songs and assorted country. I've been singing since I was old enough to memorize song lyrics, thanks to my grandmother, who had a degree in music. I joined several choirs in school and am a member of church choirs when I am active in my faith. I love spiritually based hymns and Christmas carols. Music accompanies my art and you may hear me singing when I am in the Christmas paint mode. |
In time, I will post my guitar lessons in a downloadable form so that anyone who is interested my start this journey with the guitar. I've played since I was twelve, although I do not play often enough (as you can tell in the video.)
Music makes time go by easier when the mood is melancholy or the stack of tasks at hand is a mountain high prospect. It soothes us, entertains and delights us and it enlightens us. I like a wide variety of musical sounds and try to bring that into the music I play. My musical mentor told me to play the way I can so that I could express myself without worrying that the song or sound was not perfect. The important part was getting it out there and so I have.
The guitar is not an easy instrument to master, but it takes a dedicated heart to play well.
